About Us

Hi! My name is Nick, and I've been running my Youtube Channel "Hairy Nick" for over 7 years now, discussing all things X-wing The Miniatures Game and tabletop gaming.

In mid 2024, Atomic Mass Games (the manufacturer of X-wing) announced the end of official support for this great game. The community then went into overdrive to create a network of support to keep the game running without official manufacturer support, with a coalition of pro gamers, content creators, and community project leads forming the XWA (X-wing Alliance). In the wake of this tremendous achievements and the ongoing outpour of community support, I asked myself what I could do to help.

It occurred to me then that one of X-wing's greatest challenges would be surviving without manufacturing of official game components. Unlike many other skirmish games, X-wing has a lot of unique pieces with complex mechanical functions. It's not like other war games that "just need minis on a 30mm base" etc. Geometrically accurate templates and dial indicators are needed for the core functionality of the game. I decided that creating a realistic source of these components was an important challenge to undertake for the sake of the games health, which lead me to many nights of troubleshooting/ prototyping. Geeky Bits is the culmination of those efforts.

There are plenty of online sellers looking to create a quick buck selling "premium" game pieces, but my goal is a little different. I aim to create quality, durable, and simple pieces that are accessible and affordable. I want to foster real in-roads for those wanting to play X-wing and many other games!

Thanks for all the support, and Fly Casual!
